Gabby is a good reader, but usually does not enjoy reading for fun. Gabby used to read books frequently in her free time, but as she became busier reading was less of a priority. She learned to read at a very young age with the help of her parents. People read for entertainment or to gain knowledge. There is an immense amount of knowledge held in a book, and reading is the journey of acquiring that knowledge. In order to be a successful reader, one must have an open mind and maintain focus while reading. For Gabby, the easiest part of reading is comprehension. She can quickly understand what she is reading without having to reread. The biggest struggle that comes with reading is getting lost in the book. It is very hard for Gabby to read for entertainment. When choosing a book to read, Gabby mostly goes off of recommendations of others. She gets overwhelmed when looking for a book at the library with such an array of books to choose from. A good book is enjoyable, but also makes readers feel a connection to the characters and setting of the book. Gabby does not typically read in her free time, but she is not completely opposed to it. Generally, Gabby does not prefer reading for enjoyment, but it depends on the book.

Writing is very valuable for documenting memories, telling a story, or sharing your feelings. Writing allows people to capture and share a piece of yourself. To write well, people need to be brave and really pour their heart into their words. Gabby mostly journals about random thoughts and feelings, or writes about a memorable moment to make it last longer. For Gabby, deciding what to write about is easy because the thoughts usually naturally flow out. Sometimes the thoughts come so fast that her hand struggles to keep up with her brain. Gabby believes that personal writings are reflections of your emotions, so you can really get to know someone by reading their writings. Therefore, emotional responses help her most as a writer because the writings are more genuine. Gabby frequently writes in her free time, mostly at night when she has trouble sleeping. She feels confident in what she writes and likes being able to go back and look at what was going on in her life at that point in time.
